Wow – back in the day we had a dress code and not a Catholic school … no pants, even in the dead of Winter and wore them under our skirts. That was junior high. And I never got a ride either. The first two years of high school the millage didn’t pass and we only went 1/2 days and we could wear what we wanted – freedom! The last year we went full days but we wore jeans most of the time. Of course it was those stupid styles that you are too young to remember – my favorite outfit and my parents said “you’re not going anywhere with us dressed like that!” … a maxi dress with a sash and dotted swiss long-sleeved ruffly looking top, Grecian lace-up sandals, a wooden purse that looked like a treasure chest … I raked leaves around the neighborhood to buy these clothes as my parents said “no – we buy you clothes” … I wish I had a picture – SMH!
